Founded in 2024, Thompson Schoolhouse teaches children essential life-skills and values through a relationship-centered, nature-focused, and seasonal curriculum. While creating a strong foundation for lifelong learning and environmental stewardship, we are committed to igniting a passion for exploration and discovery in children, promoting a deep appreciation and curiosity for the world around them, and fostering a sense of belonging within their community.

At Thompson Schoolhouse, we believe that nature and time for unstructured play hold a vital role in the physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development of young children. Thompson Schoolhouse uses a combination of educational philosophies to develop strong individual and communal skills. We incorporate the independence, resilience, and critical thinking of Montessori, with the collaboration and creativity of Reggio Emilia, and the holistic development and imagination of Waldorf Steiner.

Thompson Schoolhouse offers a unique nature-based curriculum that combines traditional Kindergarten readiness learning with appropriate play-based school activities. Our curriculum focuses on the whole child by promoting physical, emotional, social, creative, cognitive, and linguistic growth. At Thompson Schoolhouse, children learn through nature, direct experience, exploration, and discovery of the world around them. The natural world is a guiding theme in all areas of curriculum.
